Horizontal loops are installed in trenches that are 5 feet deep and on
average are 300 feet long. There are three horizontal loops of polyethylene pipe in each
trench. Several trenches are required for the average
home. For example, a 5,000 square foot home requires about five
trenches.

All pipes in all trenches are heat fused and connected to each other and
routed to the geoexchange water source heat pump. Clean native soil is
backfilled around the pipes.

Average installation is three days, depending on the size of the project.
